Check here for news and information about the activities of our PTFA. First up we have:
The next PTFA Committee Meeting will be held on Wednesday 16th September 2009 at 8pm. The venue is to be confirmed during the first week of term.
This next meeting is an important one where some serious decisions need to be made collectively regarding the allocation of the funds that we have raised this year. So please make this a date in your diaries.
Martin Coats (Chair Clyst St Mary PTFA)
The minutes to the last meeting are available on this site.
The summer fete this year, as always, was a great occasion. Although we have not had all the costings in yet I think I can safely say it was resounding success. The event would not have been possible without the small army of volunteers who got involved in many different capacities. You are too many to mention but a huge thankyou to you all. Another big thank you goes to everyone who attended the fete. Your generosity is really appreciated and will result in the PTFA being able to make a real difference to the facilities that the school can provide. I don't know what your favourite part of the fete was but I can bet that for many of you it was the talent contest. There were some great acts and it takes a lot of guts to stand up there and perform. The children deserved all the applause they got and more.

A big thank you to every one both school and PTFA who helped out, together we made it a really great afternoon. The effort that the children put in was truly amazing, I expect it brought a few tears to spectators eyes. I hope the ice lollies made it all worth while to them. The cream teas went down very well and we got alot of good feed back so may well do something similar next year (perhaps with a few bottles of beer / cider) - Martin Coats (Chair PTFA)
In case you have not seen the minutes on our website we wanted to mention again that £975.29 was raised from the Easter Sponsored Walk. This will be spent on various projects throughout the school and will enrich our childrens school experience and why not they did amazingly well and thoroughly deserve it. Well done to everybody who was involved. - Martin
Christmas Dinner Dance & Casino
Friday 20th November 2009
The Chiefs Suite, Sandy Park, Sandy Park Way, Exeter, EX2 7NN.
Last year's Xmas Dinner Dance was a hugely popular occasion; and it is the PTFA's great pleasure to invite you to join us this November for another fantastic evening.
This is primarily a social occasion for all the parents, teachers, support staff and any other friends and family who would like to come along and have a great time. We would particularly like to extend a warm invitation to the new parents. It is a brilliant way of really getting to know everybody and feeling like you really belong.
Aladdin Gulec of FX Photography will be there to capture us looking fabulous on our way in. Aladdin is a parent at the school and year after year always faithfully helps out with the PTFA. His work is exceptional and if you like the results you will be able to purchase them, again with a percentage of the profits going to the school PTFA. I hasten to add this is entirely voluntary and you can easily avoid this photo opportunity as Aladdin doesn't like to run very fast.
Even better news! It looks as though the price is going to be the same as last year at £35 per person. We realise that this is a bit of hit all in one go so you may pay by instalments if preferred.
If you have any specific dietary requirements, please inform us of them when you complete the booking form.
Dress is smart. Black tie is optional.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Update: As last year's event was so good we have received a huge amount of interest for this year. In order to keep our booking for Friday 20th November we have to pay a deposit this month. So if you are one of those people who have already indicated you want to go, or if you are hoping to come and just haven't got round to it yet, could you get your first instalment of £12 per person (or payment in full) to Helen Muscutt ASAP. We will be in the reception to remind you as often as we can but don't put it off or we will miss our chance. Please make cheques payable to Clyst St Mary PTFA
Many thanks for all your help.
Martin Coats (Chair PTFA)
PTFA Raffle Music & Dance Xpress
A big thank you to everybody who took part in the raffle and a second huge thank you to those who donated prizes! Our decision to read out the winning tickets all in one go seems to have been very popular with many of you so we shall try and do that next time. It was a great success and we raised about £150!
All this was of course completely overshadowed by the event itself. Haven't we got a talented bunch of pupils and staff!
Sponsored Easter Walk
Many many thanks to the children, staff and volunteers who made the Sponsored Easter Walk happen. It is far too early to see how well every body has done yet; we will keep you informed. The decision to hold this event was very recent and special thanks must go to Mrs Herbert, who really got every one motivated, and to Helen Muscutt (our Treasurer) who was ever was so slightly dropped in it at the last minute
A big thank you to everyone who came along to the Valentine's Disco. You helped us to raise £83.47. As always we are really grateful to all the adults that volunteered to help out. Thank you.
